A century ago, almost every wine we sold was done so under our own label. Today, our range has grown, but the philosophy behind our Own Selection remains unchanged: to track down the best-possible value and quality, as was recognised in 2017 and 2018, when the IWC voted it their Own Label Range of the Year.

Berry Bros. & Rudd English Sparkling Wine by Hambledon
Our English Sparkling Wine is made for us by Hambledon Vineyard in Hampshire. It is bright and enticing from the outset, with a fine mousse that brings added vibrancy to the crunchy acidity and pithy, chalky citrus fruit. Hints of toasted nuts and brioche add complexity to the nose and palate. The finish is scented and long, with a touch of creaminess. Perfect served chilled as an apéritif.

2019 Berry Bros. & Rudd Reserve Red, Collovray & Terrier
For the 2019 vintage, Jean-Luc Terrier has sourced fruit from older vines and higher-altitude plots. The addition of 10% Pinot Noir to the historically Merlot/Syrah-based blend has transformed this into a beautifully fragrant, complex and elegant wine brimming with sweet red cherry fruit and displaying super fine tannins. It is harmonious and perfectly in balance with real subtlety and a long, extremely enjoyable, refreshing finish.

2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd Reserve Rosé by Collovray & Terrier
Here, fine strawberries are complemented by fresh lemon and an intriguing note of dried bay leaves, reminiscent of Provence. The palate is full of red cherries, with a ripe nectarine and tart raspberry element and a touch of fennel to finish. Delicate and utterly refreshing, this is especially delightful in 2021.

Our 2021 Reserve White is a wonderful Chardonnay which displays fresh, herbal notes of lemon verbena on the nose along with citronelle and lemon balm. The palate is restrained and subtle, but gorgeously fresh and vibrant. White almonds are complemented by a twist of sage, marjoram and thyme. The wine is full of a taut energy which leads to a delectably refreshing, salty and mineral finish.

2017 Berry Bros. & Rudd Sauternes by Château Suduiraut
Our Sauternes has been made by Château Suduiraut. This is an early-drinking style of Sauternes, with bright aromas of orange blossom and candied apricot. The palate is ripe and glossy, with flavours of quince and white peach along with sweet undertones of allspice, stem ginger and honey. The blend is led by Sémillon, bringing a balancing bite of citrus to the finish. You can enjoy it year-round, and it’s delicious with most hard or blue cheeses.

2019 Berry Bros. & Rudd Mosel Riesling Kabinett by Selbach-Oster, Germany
This delectable Riesling is one of the most thirst-quenching wines that you could ever wish to taste. Made for us by the brilliant Johannes Selbach, it has fresh green apple and apricot aromas, lifted by the scent of meadow wildflowers. The flavours are invigorating, with bright apple freshness persisting alongside more tropical notes of kaffir lime leaves and a twist of white pepper. There’s a hint of sweetness on the otherwise palate-cleansing finish, making this a perfect match for Vietnamese dishes or a Gorgonzola salad.

We’re proud to be working with winemaker David Ramey on our first own-label Sonoma County Chardonnay. From the 2018 vintage, this wine has an attractive, ripe stone-fruit nose, with aromas of orange blossom, ginger and citrus zest adding complexity. Time in French oak has contributed layers of toast and spice, and is generously supported by lively, crisp acidity and a subtle hint of struck match.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd Australian Shiraz by Hewitson, Barossa Valley
We’ve once again worked with the wonderful Dean Hewitson to bring you this characterful Shiraz. The nose exhibits a warm depth of red-and-black bramble fruit, with a note of pure blackcurrant coulis. That rich black fruit continues on the palate, framed by an almost old-vine richness behind. This is a succulent, generous and rewarding wine which would make for a marvellous midweek pairing with sausages.

2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd Argentinian Malbec by Pulenta, Mendoza
The talented team at Pulenta Estate always bring a sense of class to our Malbec, so we’re delighted to be working with them once again. The nose exudes lifted, floral aromas of sweet, ripe blackberries which overlay a hint of chargrilled meat. Waves of wild blueberries caress the palate with a touch of sage. The tannins, although plentiful, are extremely gentle. The wine is fresh but has an overriding sensation of softness, and all is underpinned by a long, concentrated blackberry finish. The always-impressive team at De Martino have made our 2021 Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon for us. Its intense aromas of blackcurrants and raspberries are balanced by savoury hints of earth, leaves, nutmeg and gravel. The palate is brimming with fresh, ripe black cherries. A mineral note of graphite runs underneath, subtly drawing in a character that is reminiscent of the Old World. Sophisticated and classy, this a refreshing, appealing and generous wine.

Sourced by the Desvignes family from hilly vineyards in the village of Jullié, this is a vibrant and charming example of Gamay in its natural home. 2017 Berry Bros. & Rudd Late Bottled Vintage Port by Quinta de la Rosa
This LBV comes from one of only a handful of “declared Evintages from the last decade. As such, it is characterised by its concentration, elegance and depth of flavour. The nose is elegant, with fine black and red berries, Christmas-cake spice and a light touch of fresh vanilla.
The palate is impressively restrained, the sweet blackberry and raspberry fruit balanced by more complex touches of orange peel and toasted walnuts. The finish is long and refreshing for a Port; all is so well balanced, making it very easy to take another sip.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd St Emilion by Ch. Simard
Our St Emilion comes from a small property owned by the Vauthier family, one of the best names on the Right Bank. Layers of soft blackberry and cassis fruit lead to a palate of ultra-fine, velvety tannins, reflecting the warmth of the 2020 growing season.
Though Merlot is dominant, a generous portion of Cabernet Franc brings its signature raspberry crunch and a waft of violets, keeping the wine vibrant. There is a gentle purity to this vintage, which is both focused and enticingly moreish.

Our 2021 Chardonnay is a wonderful expression of its cool, Western Australian origins. There’s a fine nose of fresh lemon with a delicate mealy note. 2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by Isabel Estate
The 2021 vintage in New Zealand was of exceptional quality but very low quantity. So, we are delighted to have secured this wine, made for us by the inspiring Jeremy McKenzie of Isabel Estate. Refreshing green apple and ripe gooseberry dominate the nose. The palate is invigorating, with a lemon-sherbet zippiness and wet-pebble minerality. The wine has a wonderful cleansing purity about it, whilst a sea-salt twist lingers on the elegant finish.

De Martino have, once again, produced a wonderful Sauvignon Blanc for us in the 2021 vintage. With a fine nose of green apple, papaya and yellow citrus fruits, this wine has a textured yet fresh palate, defined by a lemon and lime zestiness which runs right through its core. Our Chianti Classico is made by the Stucchi Prinetti family of the historic Badia a Coltibuono estate. Their wines are always elegant and traditional in style. The palate is alive with wild strawberries and juicy black cherries, energised by sapid, mineral brightness. The firm-yet-glossy tannins make it perfect with slow-cooked ragù or wood-fired pizza.

2019 Berry Bros. & Rudd Pauillac by Château Lynch-Bages, Bordeaux
Once again, we’ve worked with the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages. Benefitting from the same terroir and techniques as their much-loved grand vin, this blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc is wonderfully fragrant, with layers of cassis and blackberries underpinned by sweet cedar spices and a core of graphite. It is luscious, elegant and distinctly Pauillac, with a palate of round, velvety tannins that complement the purity of the fruit. Ideal for drinking now, you could also cellar this for a couple of years.

Sourced from the prestigious Grand Cru village of Mailly, located at the heart of the Montagne de Reims, and benefiting from over three years ageing, our UKC Cuvée is a classic blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.
All the hallmarks of Grand Cru are here, with brioche and flowers on the nose and an elegant palate which marries notes of lemon grass, gingerbread and honeysuckle. The wine effortlessly combines structure and finesse and reverberates with a really authoritative Grand Cru crescendo on the finish.

Jean-Baptiste and Benoît Bachelet have outdone themselves again with this outstanding Chassagne-Montrachet. It offers a complex blend of ripe, generous stone-fruit and chiselled, saline minerals. The nose is spicy and toasty with notes of oatmeal and white peach, while the palate is rounded and dense with a mouth-watering citrus finish and a lick of vanilla oak.

Our Sancerre has been made for us by David Sautereau. The 2020 vintage was one of the earliest on record, the warm and dry conditions giving concentrated wines with both weight and freshness. David has crafted a concentrated, complex and mineral wine with notes of gooseberry, cut grass and pink grapefruit. This is a benchmark example of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc.

2018 Berry Bros. & Rudd St Estèphe by Tronquoy-LalandeOur 2018 St Estèphe comes from Château Tronquoy-Lalande, a hidden gem in this prestigious appellation. Merlot dominates, though the warm growing season was perfect for the late-ripening Petit Verdot Ewhich makes up an unusually high 41% of the blend. The result is lush and powerful. Cassis, plum and cherry aromas adorn the nose. The palate brings grippy but ripe tannins, gentle acidity and a pencil-lead finish. This is balanced and extremely drinkable.

The coolness of the 2021 vintage has yielded this wonderfully fresh and juicy Côtes du Rhône. The nose is full of black cherries and blackberries, with a touch of spice. Crunchy redcurrant notes mingle with darker berries on the palate, surrounding a pure, riverbed core and finishing with a ripe, raspberry-seed purity. This is full of energy and completely delicious.

2016 Berry Bros. & Rudd Brunello di Montalcino by La Màgia, Tuscany
Fabian Schwarz, second-generation owner-winemaker at Fattoria La Màgia in Montalcino is an ardent practitioner of organic viticulture. “For me, it's very important, Esays Fabian. “For example, if you have a spider which is eating the leaves, use other insects which eat the spider. It gives balance in the ecosystem and means less problems in the future. EFabian’s wines are elegant, terroir-driven and individual.
Our Brunello is made by Fattoria La Màgia. This small organic estate is run by Fabian Schwarz, who creates terroir-focused wines from high-altitude Sangiovese vineyards. The 2016 vintage was nearly perfect, giving the wine a vibrant nose of black cherries, dried flowers and smoky mineral charm. The palate is layered with wild berries and bright forest fruits, framed by tight, glossy tannins and iron-rich mineral grip. This is of the highest class, full of purity and finesse.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd Pomerol, by Ch. Feytit-Clinet
Our Pomerol comes from young vines at Château Feytit-Clinet, a seven-hectare estate planted mostly to Merlot. It is succulent and plump, with blackberry, black cherry and mulberry notes. There is a softening hint of allspice and chocolate, framed by velvety tannins. Cabernet Franc (10%) brings complexity and an aromatic crunch, counterbalancing the wine’s richness. A savoury touch on the finish makes this very moreish. Exceedingly versatile, this would pair with most lamb or poultry dishes Eand you could even cellar it for a year or two.

2021 Berry Bros. & Rudd Chablis by Domaine Sébastien Dampt, Burgundy
This Chablis has been made for us by the diligent and industrious Sébastien Dampt. The cool 2021 vintage has produced a wine of classical proportions, emphasising the steely, mineral character of this famous village. The nose offers notes of iodine, oyster shell and citrus fruit, while the palate is saline and juicy with a mouth-watering, fresh lemon finish.

2019 Berry Bros. & Rudd Good Ordinary Claret
Our biggest seller for decades, “GOC” is a carefully assembled blend from some of Bordeaux’s best terroirs. Merlot makes up 67% of the blend, giving the wine its silky richness. The balance is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, adding power and structure. After a year in oak, this shows why Claret is such a perennial favourite: warm, savoury aromas of cedar and woodsmoke, with supple cassis and blackberry on the palate. Designed for early drinking, this is a comfortable partner for most food, and is soft enough to be enjoyed on its own.

2020 Berry Bros. & Rudd Extra Ordinary White by Ch. Villa Bel-Air
A classic white Graves blend of Sauvignon Blanc (50%) and Sémillon (50%), our 2020 Extra Ordinary White is a testament to the quality and value of this oft-overlooked region. The Sauvignon provides aromatic fireworks and freshness on the palate; the Sémillon adds body and a touch of soft peach fruit. Around 10% is fermented in wood, lending further depth and complexity to the whole. This versatile wine makes an excellent apéritif, but it is best with a seafood platter or a goat’s cheese tartlet.
