This opens with some lovely bright fruit, but more black fruit in character, than red, more in keeping with the producer than the appellation. Black fruit makes itself evident on the palate too, lovely density and ripeness, “gushing even”, reads my note. A full, crunchy, tannic structure makes sure that this will age well too. A wonderful wine, if not very typically Chambolle.
