ready-keep2008 Meursault, Genevrières, 1er Cru, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Pale, green-tinged yellow. Perfumed, high-pitched nose melds lime, wild herbs and lavender. Very rich, ripe and sweet; a large-scaled wine with considerable power and compelling ripeness of fruit. Hazelnut and vanilla notes add to its immediate appeal. Colin is convinced that the longer elevage in 2008 resulted in wines that are much less exotic than they might otherwise have been (shades of 2003?), which led me to wonder about some very early-bottled wines I tasted elsewhere. - Stephen Tanzer, 93 pts
