ready-keep2019 Bourgogne Rouge, Domaine Sérafin Père & Fils

Vines for this cuvée are between 40 and 50 years old, from the Prunier vineyard; this generic climat is surrounded by the Gevrey vineyards of Platières and Grands Champs. There’s 70% new oak. This performs as a Gevrey in all but name. There’s plenty of sturdiness from which the deeper dark fruit notes emerge into a long finish. Drink 2023-2028.
